This is just to say how much I appreciate all the kindness and care everyone at the Pentlow has shown to Arthur during his time with you. How well he has done and how well you have done!

Pentlow Residents Show Off Their Active Side
Energetic Pentlow Nursing Home residents have been praised for taking part in a national activity challenge. The National Association for Providers of Activities for Older People (NAPA) presented Pentlow, in Summerdown Road, with a highly commended certificate after taking part in the Breath of Fresh Air Challenge. Jill Gunter, activities coordinator at Pentlow, said: “The real challenge at Pentlow was finding new activities for residents, as they take part in so much already. We do have a very active community here and residents have the chance to get out and about most days – trips to the seaside are a favourite.
It was great that this was recognised by (NAPA), as it is an organisation dedicated to increasing the profile and understanding of the activity needs for older people – something we pride ourselves on here at Pentlow. Everyone had a role to play, with kitchen staff preparing traditional fare for evening picnics, and carers, receptionists and visitors adding their ideas on how to bring a breath of fresh air to residents’ lives.

To me it was quite evident that regardless of the role, whether it might be nursing, caring, catering, office, housekeeping, maintenance or grounds, (my apologies for those I may not have included), everyone was totally committed and dedicated to caring not only for the residents but the relatives as well.
